Every Teen Girl’s Little Pink Book by Cathy Bartel
I have been reading this book recently and I absolutely love it. We bought it at a book fair last September, but since I was to busy for school works, I haven’t got enough time to read it until now. It is a book for teen girls (obviously), giving them advice on life and friendship. Cathy Bartel used quotes, stories and verses from the Bible to teach the girls about spiritual principles. If you want spiritual inspiration, this book is a must.
Here is my most favorite article in the book. It’s about true friends. I was so glad to read this, it reminded me of my true friends (hello MGZ!!!) I haven’t seen them for quite some time so I really miss them, they’re the best friends ever! Anyway, back to the article:
There is a big difference between an acquaintance and a true friend. People you simply hang out with will come and go, but a true friend is someone who will always be there for you. Recognizing the difference will help you develop relationships that will last.
Here are three traits of a true friend:
Honesty. A true friend will tell you the truth no matter what, even if it may initially hurt your feelings. Having someone who will give you an honest answer is priceless. “Wounds from a friend can be trusted but an enemy multiplies kisses.” Proverbs 27:6
Dependability. The people who truly value their friendship with you will keep their word. If you cannot count on someone, or if they cannot count on you, your friendship will not last.
Respect. Mutual respect is a large part of a good friendship. If someone is not respected, their opinions and feelings will be discounted and overlooked. Without respect, a friendship will simply not work.
So, who among your friends has these traits? Always remember to treasure these people, they are very difficult to find. 🙂
